Peggy Hackney testimonierà, in questi tre giorni, la sua personale esperienza e la propria rielaborazione del materiale Laban /Bartenieff. Il lavoro sarà concentrato su come trasmettere al meglio gli esercizi e i concetti della teoria labaniana e di Bartenieff/ Hackney, offrendo ai partecipanti un momento importante in cui rimettere in discussione e riprovare, sul proprio corpo, l’esperienza che si trasmette ad allievi e pazienti e quindi a se stessi. Il workshop sarà anche una preziosa opportunità per condividere, discutere ed esporre ogni eventuale questione, con i colleghi e con Peggy, riguardo la propria pratica lavorativa quotidiana.

Peggy Hackney, holds a B.A. in Psychology, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude, from Duke University (with a double major in Education), and an M.F.A. in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College. In addition, she is a Certified Teacher of Labanotation, a Registered Movement Thereapist (ISMETA), and a Certified Massage Therapist. For the last year Peggy served as Director of Dance at UC Berkeley, and continues to teach there now that her time as Director is over. She is the author of “Making Connections: Total Body Integration Through Bartenieff Fundamentals,” (Routledge). available from Taylor and Francis Publishing: 1-800-634- 7064. Other publications include her video tape, “Discovering Your Expressive Body,” and “A Study Guide to Elementary Labanotation,” both distributed by Princeton Book Co.

A WEEKEND OF SHARING WITH PEGGY HACKNEY

open to all Laban / Bartenieff practitioners

MOVEMENT SESSION: 9:30 – 13:30

In the afternoon we will have the chance to present our personal experiences and discuss our work with others.

WHERE: SPAZIO PROXIMA RES – Piazza Angelo Sraffa 4, 20136 Milan Tram 9 / 15

During the three days Peggy will present to us her elaboration of the Laban / Bartenieff material. The workshop will focus on how to better transmit the exercises and concepts supporting the Laban / Bartenieff / Hackney work. The participants will have the precious opportunity not only to experience physically the material they will transmit to students and patients, but also to discuss with Peggy and the other advanced participants any issues that have come up in their own teaching. This workshop will be a chance to share with colleagues as well as to work with Peggy.
